Jewett's Strength & Conditioning Blog

November 19, 2010

A big hello to everyone!  It has been a while since my last post.  First I would like to give a big THANK YOU to all who participated in my survey.

With the responses to the survey question I am set to produce my first product.  The product will be released sometime soon after the new year, stay tuned.

My plan is to continue to produce great products which will motivate, educate, and inspire all to work harder, work smarter, reach their goals, and get the results they have been dreaming of.

I am going to try my best to post a weekly update on training, conditioning, motivation, and goal setting.  I am very busy with coaching, training, and trying to be the best dad/husband I can.  Thank you to all for your support and encouragment over the past few months, I can’t do any of this without you.

I have a question for everyone.  What are some of your goals and how do you plan on reaching them?  Please feel free to post your answer in the comment section and we’ll see what everyone has to say!

Until next time,

P.S: If you have any question or comment you can post it or you can reach me at: or visit my website at:, check it out, and use the contact us page to get to me.

I need a little help from everyone, especially those looking for a boost in performance.  I created a survey about 8 different strength and conditioning products.  It would only take a second to complete and I would love it if you could help me out.  Thanks in advance.

Every day is an opportunity to be a little better than the day before.  What you do with this opportunity is up to you.  For me and the people I work with we work hard to do the rights things to prepare us to be successful.

I get a lot of people asking me about how they can get better and improve.  My reply is always, “put in the work, take the time to do things correctly, and continue on your journey”.

To get the results many of you want, there has to some sacrifice and dedication.  Without sacrifice and dedication to your goals you are almost guaranteeing you will not reach them.  Again, take every day as an opportunity to take another step toward your goals, another day to get better.

An old coach of mine always used to say, “you either get better or worse, you never stay the same”.  Make sure you are getting better, each and every day.

What do you do with your time?

I always have plenty to do.  If you ask my wife, I find stuff to do.  I can’t sit still, it is not in my blood.

Lately I’ve been keeping busy by working my plan, getting my fitness business running more effectively, and being around for my girls.

People complain of not having anything to do or being bored.  I don’t know how anyone can think this way, I always have sooo much to do.

Another thing I hear people complain about is not enough time.  I find time.  You have to prioritize what is important to you.

My girls (baby and wife) are my #1 priority.  Then comes work, fitness and other activities.  This takes up all of my time and I absolutely love it.

I have been really busy this past week putting together my thoughts on paper and will be soon releasing them to you.  I am a very motivated person and I know I will get this done and to you soon.

One of my projects is a FREE REPORT on getting stronger and the other is an e-book on becoming more confident.  Right now they are taking up some of my valuable time so I may help others out there who may benefit from my knowledge.

This is just some of the things that run through my head and take up my time.  What do you do?

Let me know how you spend your days.  I welcome any comments or concerns.

Stay fit my friends

Don’t forget to become a fan of my Facebook group at the top right of my blog page and stay tuned to find out more information about the reports.

Interview done with Takedown Radio

Hey everyone,

I have attached a link to an interview I did with Scott Casber of Takedown Wrestling Media.  The high school team I wrestled for in Cheboygan, MI may be cut due to budget concerns and the coach has done a good job gaining support.  If you would like to support you can listen to my interview, then join the Facebook site which will keep you up to date with all the happenings.

I truly believe it is past and present experiences that help shape who you are.  It is due to wrestling, my family and upbringing that I am who I am today.  I love the sport of wrestling having coached now for over 10 years.  I love coaching athletes to become great; better than what I could have ever been.  I have learned from all of my mistakes, have a passion to teach others, and strive to get their best.  It is what I was made to do, help others to do their best and reach their goals, far beyond what they once thought they could get.

In the interview I talk about what wrestling has done for me, budget needs, how I became inspired, and the opportunity they are giving the youth of Cheboygan with wrestling.

Check it out:

This is my first interview and I thought it was a pretty big deal, I was kinda nervous.

Take a listen, post a comment, tell me what you think.  If you have any questions please feel free to post them or contact me via:

Stay healthy,

Boiler Room Workout

What’s up people?

It’s been a while since I talked about my trip up to WI.  While I was there I met up with pro strongman Pete Konradt and his guys.  We did some strongman training at “The Boiler Room”.  The training was hard and really fun rolled into one.

About the video; Pete is a wicked stong guy and flies through this carriage walk.  The guy in the yellow shirt is no slouch, he is a member of The Strength Team and he gives it a go.

It is just one event we did.  The video is really short so give it a look!

Please feel free to post comments, concerns and questions.

This video shows how I made my own sandbags that I use for my training.  Pretty good workouts can be done with the sandbags and they are a good tool to have.  Tell me what you guys think.
